His father was lodging at High Street Road, Portsmouth.

Another entry gives his birth in 1822 in Widley, Hampshire, his marriage to Elizabeth Fullick on 4 November 1878 in Hampshire, a daughter Alice, and death in March 1912. Ann Mckay adds the place of marriage as The Parish Church, Portsea and a second daughter Kate. Another gives the date of birth as 21 July 1822 in Cosham, Wymering, Hampshire, parents William and Ann Madgwick, and death in February 1912 in Cosham, Hampshire. Dean Madgwick adds he "enlisted 9 10 1847 onboard Victory, left in 1859" three children (Charles, Henry and Elizabeth (which I believe are incorrect as they were born before he was 12) and burial on 29 February 1912 in Widley.
Wymering and Cosham are just north of the A27/M27, and Widley a mile north up the A3.
Charles Madgwick was the husband of Elizabeth Fullick, my first cousin three times removed.
