I cannot find an entry for her Registration of Birth.

In the 1841 census as Mary Luff aged 9 months, born in Surrey and living with Thomas (father?) and Mary (mother?) in Lower Churt, Farnham at the same address as Charles Croucher (grandfather?), Charlotte Croucher (stepgrandmother?), Charles, Mary and Elizabeth Croucher (uncles and aunts?).
I cannot find an entry in the Ancestry 1851 Census (a large part of the Elstead area seems to be missing) but in the West Surrey Family History Society West Surrey 1851 census as Mary Luff aged 10, born in Frensham and living with her parents (Thomas and Mary), three brothers (Charles, James and Thomas) and two sisters (Ann and Sarah) at Elstead, Surrey.
In the 1861 census as Mary Luff aged 20, born in Churton, unmarried, employed as a housemaid, and living with Mary B Parsons (aged 53, born in Portsea, Hampshire, widowed and a landed proprietor and fundholder), her stepson (William aged 26, born in Godalmng, unmarried and employed as a surgeon), and two daughters (Elizabeth and Sarah S aged aged 17 and 19, born in Godalming and no stated employment), a cook (Harriett Barnes aged 44, born in Godalming and widowed), a needlewoman (Louisa Constable aged 35, born in Newington, Surrey and unmarried), and an errand boy (James Hook aged 14 and born in Godalming) at 17 High Street, Godalming, Surrey.

In the 1901 census as Mary New aged 60, born in Chart (sic), and living with her husband (John C), a visitor (Kate Wilkins - married sister) and a boarder (Charles E Wilson aged 45, born in Whitwell, Northamptonshire, single and employed as an artist (painter) working from home) at Wheeler Steet, Witley.
There is an entry in Ancestry Public Member Trees for Mary Luff born 1840 in Churt, parents Thomas Luff and Ann Croucher, the 1841 and 1861 census entries, and her marriage to John New in December 1864 in Hambledon, London.
Mary Luff was my half first cousin twice removed.
