Christening of Harriet Luff in the IGI on 11 October 1840 in Thursley, Surrey, parents Edward and Harriet Luff. (Although born in Elstead, the nearest church was Thursley).

In the 1841 census as Hariott Luff aged 4, born in Surrey, and living with Edward (father?), Harriott (mother?), and Levi (brother?) at Houndown, Pitchplace, Elstead, Surrey.

In the 1851 census as Harriett Luff aged 10, born in Ealstead (sic - Elstead), and living with her parents (Edward and Harriett), two brothers (Levi and William), and two sisters (Elizabeth and Martha) at Cox Heath, Crondall, Hampshire.

In the 1861 census as Harriett Luff aged 20, born in Elstead, employed as a servant in the business, and living with Charles and Mary May (her aunt), and a domestic servant (Fanny Cover aged 14 and born in Battersea) at 51 Downing Street, Farnham.

In the 1891 census as Harriett Lauman (sic - in the index, correct on the original), aged 50, born in Shursby Eletead (sic - in the index, correct on the original), Surrey, widowed, living on her own means, and living with her two sons (George and Harnold (sic)), and daughter (Jutianna (sic)) and a domestic servant (Mary Kate Lanman aged 19, norn in Theale, Berkshire, and unmarried) at 140 Oxford Road, St Mary, Reading. (Note in the index this household is combined with the previous one).

In the 1901 census as Harriett Lanman, aged 60, born in Thursley, widowed, and living with her two unmarried sons (George and Harold) and unmarried daughter (Julianna) at 3 Carlise Buildings, Seamoor Road, West Cliff, Bournemouth, Hampshire.

The two sons Josiah and Arthur are a guess. George and Julianna were twins.
