Les Judson "Contributed November 2000: I stayed in Kingston after finishing at Queen's and started to work for Correctional Service of Canada. Twenty-seven years later I'm still with the Service! I am the Warden of a minimum security penitentiary near Gravenhurst Ont. Married with two teenage kids. Still playing a little blues guitar as a pastime. Contributed April 2001: "Just thought that I would pass on this information to you, this is Ruthanne Judson (Ruthanne Veitch), Les's sister. Les passed away today, Sunday April 8, 2001, at Mount Sinai hospital after a battle with cancer. He talked many times about your web page and has re-developed some friendships through it. Les was diagnosed with esophageal cancer about August 2000. He underwent a radical operation to have his esophagus removed and underwent chemo and radiation. He leaves behind his wife Claire, their children Leighanne (17) and Derek (15). His family was everything to him."

Here is the obituary from the Toronto Star on April 10, 2001. Judson, Walter Leslie - Les, the beloved husband of Claire and proud father of Leighanne and Derek, died Sunday, April 8, 2001 having fought a courageous battle against cancer. His sisters Laura, Valerie and Ruthanne, his mother and father (Walter and Marjorie), the extended families of Judson and Savoie, friends and co-workers mourn their loss but remember with joy their association with Les. Visitation at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St. N., Orillia on Tuesday, April 10 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service on Wednesday, April 11 at St. Paul's United Church, 62 Peter St. N., Orillia at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Cancer Research would be appreciated by the family. -Source: The Toronto Star.

From Ruthanne: "Les's funeral was Wednesday in Orillia. It was nice if you can say that about a funeral. Corrections Canada had a colour guard, and many of their executives were present. The choir from his son's school sang and they were accompanied by three guitarists and a drummer."
