Notes

Christening of Hester Hall in the IGI on 1 Jun 1814 in Frensham, Surrey, parents Stephen Hall and Sarah.

Christening in West Surrey Family History Society Frensham Baptisms of Hester Hall on 1 June 1814, daughter of Stephen Hall (victualler) and Sarah of Headley. From this I assume she was born at the White Horse, later the Frensham Pond Hotel, in Headley.

Marriage of Esther Hall to Edward Baker in the IGI on 11 May 1833 in Frensham, Surrey, UK. The marriage is also in the West Surrey Family History Society Surrey Marriages on 11 May 1833 in Frensham by banns. Esther was of Headley Parish so I assume that she was living at the White Horse/Frensham Pond Hotel.

All her children were christened in Frensham - her name is spelt Hester in the IGI entry for Alfred, otherwise Esther.

In the 1841 census as Esther Baker, aged 25, not born in Surrey and living with Edward (husband?), Alfred , Edwin and Elizabeth (children?) in Lower Churt (next property is in Cross Water), Farnham, Surrey.

In the 1851 census as Esther Baker, aged 36, born in Frensham and living with her husband (Edward), two sons (Albert who must be Andrew and Andrew who must be Alfred), and two daughters (Ann and Esther who must be Elizabeth) in Frensham.

There is a entry for the death of Esther Baker in FreeBMD in July-September 1857 in Farnham district (2a 40). On a copy of the Entry of Death made on 26 January 2005 it states that Esther Baker died on 27 July 1857 at Churt, Frensham aged 42 years. The informant was Charlotte Croucher of Churt Frensham who was present at the death, and who registered it on 29 July 1857 at Farnham. Charlotte was Charlotte Shrub, the mother of the husband of Esther's daughter Elizabeth. There is an entry in West Surrey Family History Society West Surrey Burials for Esther Hall in 1857 aged 43 years in Frensham.

Her husband was a widow in 1861 census.
