In the 1871 census as Alice T Hennings aged 6, born in Lambeth, Surrey and living with her parents (George and Hannah) and sister (Eliza F) at 9 Stracey Road, Church Street, Forest Gate, West Ham, Essex (across A114 from Wanstead Park Station). Note that in the index she is given as her father's wife and hence married!.
In the 1881 census as Alice Jane Hennings aged 16, born in Southwark, Surrey, employed as a milleners apprentice, and living with her parents (George and Hannah), a boarder (Elizabeth Offwood aged 72, born in Cambridge, a widow and no stated employment) and three visitors (Margaret Anscombe aged 38, born in Middlesex, married and no stated employment, and her two daughters Elizabeth aged 13 and born in Middlesex and Rosina aged 4 and born in Kent) at 4 Salisbury Terrace, West Ham, Essex.
