Simmond Stone [Simmonstone, Symondstone] was a ford (now bridged) over Barford Stream on the county boundary between Churt (Surrey) and Headley (Hampshire). The name comes from Richard Semen who owned the manor of Wishanger in 1359 and his boundary stone stood on the west side of the ford [Ref: Baker & Minchin, Frensham Then and Now].
