Notes

Birth of Hester Fullick in FreeBMD in January-March 1842 in Farnham (4 147). From the date of the christening I assume she was born in 1841 (probably December), and from the 1841 census entry for her parents I assume at Simmondstone. Frensham church is much closer than Headley's.

Christening of Esther Fullick in the IGI on 2 January 1842 in Frensham, Surrey, parents William and Hannah Fullick. There is also a submitted entry for the birth of Esther Fullick in Headley, Hampshire in 1842, parents William and Hannah Fullick.

In the 1851 census as Ester Fullick aged 9, born in Headley, and living with her parents (William and Hannah), four brothers (Andrew, Charles, Frederic and John) , and two sisters ( Fanny and Jane) in Headley.

In the 1861 census as Esther Fultich (sic - in index, correct on original), aged 19, born in Headley, Hampshire, unmarried, employed as a house servant, and living with George Allder (aged 42, born in Ash and a farmer of 311 acres employing ten men and four boys), his wife (Elijah? aged 30, and born in Heaclly, Hampshire), his five children (Elizabeth aged 4, George aged 73?, Joseph aged 8, Mary aged 2, and Samuel aged 7 all born in Puttenham), a governess (Louisa Elija Holingdde aged 22, and born in Tatsfield, Kent), another house servant (Ann Poulter aged 14 and born in Frensham), a servant (Will Moon aged 16, born in Ptttenham and employed as a grocer - was he really a lodger?), and a lodger (John Alexander aged 57, born in Puttenham, widowed and employed as an agricultural labourer) at Shoelands Farm, Puttenham, Surrey.

In the 1871 census as Esther Fullock (on original), aged 28, born in Headley, Hampshire, unmarried, employed as a servant and living with Mary A Jones (aged 73, born in Bloomsbury, Middlesex, unmarried and no stated employment) and two other servants (Betsy A Baxter born in Silsey, Lincolnshire and Mary Curtis born in Lincolnshire, both aged 33 and unmarried) at 120 Gloucester Terrace, Paddington, London.

In the 1881 census as Esther Fullick aged 40, born in Headley, Hampshire, unmarried, employed as a housemaid and living with Maria Jones (aged 80, born in Bloomsbury, unmarried and living on income from dividends and rents), a visitor (Jane Earle aged 70, born in Barnetby, Lincoln, widowed and living on income from dividends), a palourmaid (Betsey A Baxter aged 42, born in Sibsey, Lincoln and unmarried) and a cook (Ellen Voller aged 29, born in Bramelcotte, Hampshire - I suspect Bramshott - and unmarried) at 120 Glouster Terrace, Paddington.

In the 1891 census as Esther Fullick aged 40 (10 years out, but I am fairly sure this is the correct person), born in Headley, Hampshire, unmarried, employed as a housemaid, and living with eight other servants at 12 Grosvenor Gardens, St George Hanover Square. There is no head of household but there are Walter Hargreaves Brown aged 9 and born in Scotland and Emily E Hargreaves Brown aged 4 and born in Lancashire - I assume their parents were elsewhere.

In the 1901 census as Esther Fellick (sic - in the index, correct on the original), aged 50 (10 years out, but I am fairly sure this is the correct person), unmarried, born in Headley, employed as a housemaid, and living with Alexander N Brown (aged 56, born in Collingham, Yorkshire and employed as a merchant banker), his wife (Henrietta A T aged 52 and born in Liverpool), four children (Ages Sara H aged 23 and born in St George Hanover, Fatoin H aged 20 and born in Liverpool, Gladys Emily H aged 14 and born in Liverpool, and Walter H aged 19, born in Kingussie, Scotland and 2nd Leut. in the Coldstream Guards) at 12 Grosvenor Gardens, St George Hanover Square.

Claire Fox has an entry in Ancestry OneWorldTree for Esther Fulick christened in Headley on 2 January 1842, parents William Fullick and Hannah Trussler.
