In the 1841 census as Joseph Foster aged 50 (rounded down to a multiple of 5), employed as a clothier and living with Mary (wife?), Joseph (son?), Mary Ann and Naomi (daughters?), and Martha and Ruth Pickard, and George Mathewsman (I assume a relative of his wife) in Low Wortley, Tankersley Yorkshire.
I cannot find an entry in the 1851 census. There are two possible entries in FreeBMD for the death of Joseph Foster between 1841 and 1851 in Hunslet which included Wortley - October-December 1845 (23 182) and July-September 1847 (23 203).
