From private correspondence he married Alice Mary Mepham on 25 December 1896 at St Peters, Norbiton, Kingston. From the Kingston-onThames History Room Register No 175 Edward George Croucher was a bachelor of Norbiton, aged 26 and his father was William Croucher, a labourer. They had four children: Alice Maud, Edward John, Frederick William and Lillian M.
In the 1881 census as Edward Croucher aged 9, born in Kingston, and living with his parents, three brothers (Frederick G, Harry, and Richard), and sister (Emily M) at 2 Lucias Cottages, Cambridge Grove Rd, Kingston. (Note that another Edward Croucher aged 9 was living next door at Number 1).
