Production Runner Carnival Film &Television February 2011 October 2011 (9 months)
Western Director Design City Admin Office August 2010 October 2010 (3 months)
My role here was to promote and publicise the new Dalian Design City to international companies, and help translate Chinese text in promotion literature into English.
Features Writer Focus on Dalian Magazine May 2010 October 2010 (6 months)
My role at the magazine was to come up with fresh, new ideas to improve the design, layout and editorial content of the magazine, interviewing people, writing articles on local personalities and places and devising new ways to improve revenue and circulation figures.
Editorial Assistant AA Publishing, Basingstoke April 2010 May 2010 (2 months)
I returned to the AA earlier this year and was given the responsibility of helping to proof-read the popular Restaurant and Travel guides. I used their database system to update the information for the restaurants and hotels guides as well as filing and keeping their records up to date. In addition to this, I wrote letters to people who submitted photographs to the guides to get their permission to publish their prints.
Head of Production Xpression FM April 2009 April 2010 (1 year 1 month)
As Head of Production for Xpression FM, I learnt how to organise and delegate roles to the members of the station. I can now use the Myriad and Cool Edit programmes effectively, allowing me to create idents, adverts and positioners as well as recording programmes and converting them into podcasts for the stations website. This position also enhanced my communication skills as I have trained many groups of students to use the production desk. I have also learnt to be creative and original with the idents and adverts I made to publicise the station. I also had my own radio show which helped improve my confidence and my ability to present to an audience.
Work Experience Creative Partnership July 2009 September 2009 (3 months)
In my short time at Creative Partnership I developed a much clearer understanding of the process of a press campaign for a film, from how the film posters are produced to how a film trailer is made. I also helped the script writer by finding good lines from the CSI episodes to use in a television advert for the Christmas box sets and this gave me a clearer idea of what a script writer's job entails as well as what is needed to produce a successful television advert.
Membership Sales Adviser Sports Centre June 2008 August 2009 (1 year 3 months)
Selling membership to customers built my confidence as I had to talk to many different people and find a way of selling them the product. I also had to come up with fresh marketing ideas to create new business, and I was working under pressure with an individual target for sales each month. The role also included data entry, phoning and emailing customers and dealing with any complaints.
