Christening of Mary Dowling in the IGI on 16 June 1806 in Bramshot, Hampshire, parents Lawrence and Mary Dowling.

There is an entry in Bramshott Mariage Licences for Mary Dowling, aged 26 and a spinster, and John Chalcraft, a bachelor aged 36 of Bramshott at All Saints, Southampton on 1 May 1833.

The following appears in the Full Text of Hampshire Allegations for Marriage Licences Granted by the Bishop of Winchester 1689-1837

In the 1841 Census as Mary Chaluaft (original illegible) aged 35 (rounded down to a multiple of 5), born in Hampshire and living with John (husband?) in Bramshott, Hampshire. Another family is living at the same address.

In the 1851 census as Mary Chalcraft aged 44, born in Bramshott, and living with her husband (John), a house servant (Mary J Mathews aged 20, born in Headley, Hampshire and single), and a groom (Thomas Frost aged 68, born in Bramshott and widowed) at Conford House, Bramshott, Hampshire.

In the 1861 census as Mary Chalcraft aged 54, born in Bramshott, and living with her husband (John), and a house servant (Ellen Wells aged 17 and born in Liss, Hampshire) at Conford, Bramshott, Hampshire.

Death of Mary Chalcraft in FreeBMD in April-June 1864 in Farnbro (2a 61) which included Bramshott 1847-1869.

Relationship

Mary Dowling was the wife of John Chalcraft, my fourth cousin four times removed.
