Notes

No entry in IGI for his christening.

In 1871 census aged 5 months (as Charles Croucher), born in Chute (sic) in index, Churt in original, and living with his parents (his mother incorrectly named Charlotte), half-sister (Maria Baker), three sisters (Esther, Caroline and Ann) and brother (William) at Frensham Pond.

Entry in 1881 Census aged 10, born in Churt, and living at Keepers Cottage, Frensham (this would have to be the same as Pond End and Pond Cottage for my fathers records to be correct) with his parents, sister Emily and brother Ernest.

In 1891 census aged 21, born in Surrey, single, employed as a groom, and a boarder at Cavess? Stables, Manor Road with James Woods (aged 50, born in Cheshire and employed as a domestic coachman), his wife Mary (aged 55 and born in Lancashire), their daughter Emily (aged 15 and born in Liverpool), and James mother(-in-law) Ann Bowkes (aged 75, a widow and born in Cheshire).

Marriage in FreeBMD.

In 1901 Census a domestic coachman aged 30 living at 28 Lovat Street, West Derby, Liverpool, with wife, son and Emily M A Pike aged 22, a domestic cook born in London. Age matches 1881 census entry.

Children and Death came from my father's records. Sylvia thought they lived in Wrexham, and had a taylor's shop, and my father visited them during the war. Ruth Croucher (Deadman) said they stayed for a week in Churt before the war.

Relationship
