In the 1891 census as Jane Davis aged 28, born in Coventry, Warwickshire, and living with her husband (Arthur), daughter (Marion) and a visitor (Mary L Parker aged 19, unemployed and born in East markham, Nottinghamshire) at 3 Crescent Road, Erith, Kent.

In the 1901 census as Emily Davis aged 38, born in Warwickshire, and living with her husband (Arthur) and two daughters (Jennie and Marion) in four rooms at 33 Crossness (there is a Lane and a Footpath), Erith, Kent.

Her daughter was born in Plumstead in 1895.

In the 1911 census as Jane Davis aged 48, born in Warwickshire, married for 28 years with three children, one having died, and living with her husband (Arthur), two daughters (Jenney and Marion) in four rooms at 33 Crossness, Abbey Wood, Kent.

Her husband died in Greenwich in 1921.

There are two entries in Ancestry Public Member Trees for Emily Jane Cowles born in Monks Kirby, Warwickshire in 1863, parents James Cowles and Emily Adams, her marriage to Arthur Davis in Greenwich, London, and her last two daughters. Maureen Kristjanson gives her place of birth as Stretton under Fosse, Warwickshire, and her marriage in 1882.

At Stretton under Fosse which is 2 miles SE of Monks Kirby (a hamlet within the parish) is the entrance to Newbold Revel, the home of the Skipworths. Prior to their rebuilding of the house in 1716 it was owned by Sir Thomas Malory, a Knight in the Wars of the Roses, who translated the mediaeval legend of Morte d 'Arthur into English.
