Birth of George Frederick Cole in FreeBMD in April-June 1881 in Alton (2C 169).
In the 1881 census as George Fredick Cole, no age in the index but 18 days on the original, born in Headley, Hampshire, and living with his parents (Frederick Jas and Mary Jane) at Field House, Headley, Hampshire. The census was taken on 3 April 1881 so he was born about 16 March. Note Field House is a couple of hundred yards from the Frensham, Surrey border.
His father died in 1890.
In the 1891 census as George Cole aged 10 born in Chere, Surrey and living with Edgar and Samuel Cole (who I assume were his brothers) who were also born in Chere and 28 other boys at a branch of the Southwark Boys Orphanage, St Lawrence, Ramsgate, Kent run by George and Mary Greenway. His mother who was living with her widowed father and her son John in London.
In the 1901 census as George Cole aged 20, born in Frensham, Surrey, employed as a bricklayer, and boarding together with his two brothers (John and Sam) with his step-father (Abraham Shrubb), mother (Mary J), step-sister (Kate Shrubb) and half-sister (Beatrice Shrubb) in Shortheath, Wrecclesham, Frensham, Surrey. However I can find no registration of marriage for his mother to Abraham Shrubb.
There is an entry in FreeBMD for the marriage of George Frederick Cole to either Edith Bunce or Fanny Amelia Green in April-June 1904 in Farnham (2a 277).

George Frederick Cole was the son of Mary Jane Store, wife of Abraham Shrubb, my second cousin twice removed.
