In the 1871 census as Emily Cowdery (sic - in the index, Cawdery on the original) aged 8, born in Shoreditch, Middlesex, and living with her parents (Joseph and Caroline Mary), four brothers (Charles, George, Joseph and Richard) and sister Caroline Mary at 15 Holton Place. Lambeth, London.
I cannot locate her in the 1881 census, but she was not living with her parents.
Two entries for the marriage of Emily Jane Cawdery and Emily Jane Caudery (both on typed original) to Allan (sic - on the typed original) Thomas Croucher and in FreeBMD in October-December 1882 in Strand (1b 1047).
Her children were born in Sheerness in 1883, 65 Maysoule Road, Wandsworth in 1885, Chatham in 1887, and Mayo in 1880. Her last son was born in Southsea on 3 September 1891 after her husband's death on 7 March 1891 in Ballyglass, Belmullet, Mayo, Ireland.
I cannot locate her in the 1891 census - I assume she was still in Mayo and moved to Southsea shortly afterwards.

There are eighteen entries in Ancestry Public Member Trees for Emily Jane Cawdery, born in Middlesex in 1863. Fifteen give her father as Joseph Cawdery, one as Joseph William Cawdery. Seven give her mother as Caroline Mary Bantin, and seven as Mary Elizabeth Kent (these have the wrong Joseph as her father). Some add her marriage on 8 April 1882 at St Marylebone, Strand, (this must have been St Mary le Strand, not Marylebone) and her five children. A few add her marriage to James C Hales. Several give her death in Lovedean, Hampshire on 23 March 1945.
Emily Jane Cawdery was the wife of Alban Thomas Croucher, grandfather of David Reginald Croucher, husband of Patricia Ann Ashford, my half third cousin once removed.
