There are two entries for the marriage of James Baxter in the IGI: on 12 June 1762 in Meigle, Perth to Mary Small and on 7 November 1772 in 7 July 1762 in Newtyle, Angus to Myren Small. In Scotlands People it states : Meigle 1762 "June 12 James Baxter in this parish and Mary Small in Newtyle" and Newtyle 1762 "Baxter Contract June 12, Marriage July 7, James in the parish of Meigle and Myren Small in this parish matrimonially contracted and afterwards married."
