In the 1841 census as Robert Baker aged 15 (rounded down to a multiple of 5), born in Hampshire, no stated employment and living with George and Ann (parents?), Henry (brother?) and Sarah (sister?) at Simmondstone, Headley (Frensham Pond Hotel/White Horse is the next property).
His mother died in 1841.
In the 1851 census as Robert Baker aged 29, born in Headley, unmarried, employed as a farm bailiff, and lodging with Elizabeth Vanner aged 48, born in Farnham, a widow and employed as a grocer and baker at Wrecclesham, Farnham, Surrey.
In the 1861 census as Robert Baker aged 40, born in Headg (sic - in the index, Headley on the original), unmarried, employed as a farmer of 50 acres of land employing 2 men and 1 boy, and living with a visitor Elizabath Swan (a widow aged 62, a fund holder and born in Newton, Hampshire - grandmother?), and three servants (Charles Glayser aged 17 and employed as a carter, William Wooderson aged 17 and employed as a cowman and Elizh Stegenell (Stigwell?) aged 14 and employed as a house servant) at Runfold, Farnham.

Baker aged 53 (sic - should be 58), born in Headley, Hampshire, and a farmer of 40 acres employing 2 men and 2 boys) and living with his wife (Lucy), two sister-in-laws (Ellen and Kate More, aged 40 and 37, both born in Binstead, and unmarried), a farm servant (Arthur Luff), a domestic servant (Alice Rampton aged 14 and born in Binstead) and a labourer (Stephen Withall aged 17 and born in Milford, Surrey) at Runfold Lane, Farnham. Arthur Luff was my half second cousin once removed - was there a relationship between Arthur's mother and Roberts wife?.
