Notes

Entry in the IGI for the christening of Nicholas Baker on 20 May 1720 in Headley, Hampshire, parents Christopher Baker and Anne.

Entry in the IGI for the marriage of Nicholas Baker and Ann Louland on 21 May 1736 in Haslemere, Surrey.

There are two entries in West Surrey Family History Society West Surrey Marriages for Nicholas Baker and Ann Louland of Headley Hampshire in Haslemere, one on 21 May 1735 and the 21 May 1736. (Although this states Ann came from Headley, it would make more sense if Nicholas came from Headley and Ann from Haslemere - I cannot find Louland, Lonland, Loveland in Headley records).

All three children were christened in Headley.

There are two submitted entries in the IGI for his birth in Haslemere in about 1711, and his marriage to Ann Lonland on 21 May 1736. Another submitted entry just gives the marriage to Ann Lonland on the same date, and another to Ann Louland on the same date.

There is an entry in Headley Burials for Nicolas Baker on 17 November 1742 - was this the same person, and were the children brought up by his parents?

The following is extracted from Bakers of Headley: Christopher & Ann’s son Nicholas was baptized in Headley on 20 May 1720. He married Anne Loveland at Haslemere on 21 May 1736, and they had three children: Nicholas born in 1736, John in 1738 and Stephen in 1742. Nicholas senior died in 1742, being buried on 17 November.
