In the 1871 census as George Baker aged 2, born in Frensham, Surrey and living with his parents (George and Elizabeth in the index, Joseph and Elizabeth on the original), and two brothers (Allen and Frank), who were lodging with George Baker (his granduncle), another lodger (John Baker - another granduncle) and a servant (Maria Carby (sic in the index, Maria Larby on the original, daughter of Samuel and Ann who were living next door) aged 10 and born in Frensham) at Crosswaters, Churt, Frensham.

In the 1881 census as George Baker aged 12, born in Frensham, Surrey, and living with his parents (Joseph and Elizabeth), four brothers (Allen, Frank, James and Joseph) and uncle (Selby Baker) at Crosswater, Churt, Frensham, Surrey.

In the 1891 census as George Baker aged 21, born in Frensham, Surrey, single and a coachwheeler and boarding with Henry Bakes (Baker on the original, aged 34, born in Willington, Somerset, and a coachpainter), his wife (Emma aged 30 and born in Godalming, Surrey) and another boarder (Frank Bennett aged 22, born in Basingstoke, Hampshire, single and a coach painter) at 25 Cheselden Road (between Sydenham Road and Harvey Road), Holy Trinity, Guildford, Surrey.

I cannot find an entry for his marriage to Sarah Ann Martin - she had married Stephen Stedman in 1883, and he died in April-June 1892. George's son Martin Hervey was born in Brighton in April-June 1893. The remaining children were born in Fulham in 1896 to 1905.

His son Bernard was christened at St John, Worlds End in 1898 when his occupation was a carriage maker, his wife was Sarah Ann and they lived at 29 Tadeani? Road.

In the 1901 census as George Baker aged 32, born in Frensham, Surrey, a coach and carriage maker (private) and living with his wife (Sarah A), and two sons (Bernard and George F) in three rooms at Beltran Road, South Fulham, London.

His son daughter Sylvia was christened at St Matthew, Fulham in 1905 when his occupation was a carriage maker, his wife was Annie and they lived at 60 Beltran Road.

In the 1911 census as George Baker aged 42, born in Frensham, Surrey, a coachmakers forman, and living with his wife (Sarah Ann), two sons (Bernard and George) and daughter (Sylvia) in Fulham, London.

His wife died in Farnham in 1926.

In Bakers of Headley it states Joseph’s third child by his first marriage, George, was born on 10 February 1869. In 1881 the census recorded him at home with his family at Crosswaters Farm, Churt. He was married twice: first to Sarah Ann Martin, by whom he had four children: Martin, George Frederick born in 1896, Bernard, and Sylvia born in 1907.

Susan F Belsey has an entry for George Baker born 10 February 1869 in Frensham, Surrey, parents Joseph Baker and Elizabeth Fox, his marriage to Sarah Ann Martin on date unknown, his four children, his marriage to Edith Ethel Baker on 21 December 1929 in Christ Church, Richmond, Surrey, and his death on 20 May 1956.
