Birth of Albert Baker in FreeBMD in April-June 1841 in Farnham (4 143) which included Headley until 1846.
There is an entry for the christening of Albert Baker in the IGI on 23 May 1841 in Frensham, Surrey, but the parents are given as John and Ann Baker although there is no record of John marrying Ann. The following census entries do not clarify the relationship.
In the 1841 census as Albert Baker aged 2 months, born in Hampshire, and living with William and Ann (parents?) at Barford, Headley, Hampshire. The census was held on 6 June.
His mother died in Headley in 1842.
In the 1851 census as Albert Baker aged 9, born in Headley, and living his widowed father (George), two brothers (Henry and William), sister (Sarah), a visitor (John Baker aged 40, born in Headley, unmarried and a farmer of 49 acres employing three labourers), and two servants (William Mills aged 23, unmarried and employed as an agricultural labourer and Martha Shrube (sic - Shrub on the original) aged 16 and born in Headley - my great grandmother) at Simmondstone, Headley. George's wife would have been too old for Albert to have been her son, and I assume William was his father as implied in the 1841 census.
In the 1861 census as Albert Baker aged 19, born in Headley, Hampshire, and living with his uncle (William), uncle (Henry), Aunt (Marry), and two servants (Mark Barrnett aged 18 and Agmes Hunt aged 19, both born in Headley, Hampshire) in Headley, Hampshire.
Marriage of Albert Baker and Elizabeth Combes in FreeBMD in July-September 1868 in Farnham (2a 125).
In the 1871 census as Albert Baker aged 29, born in Headley, Surrey, a farmer of 70 acres employing three men and one boy, and living with his wife (Elizabeth), son (Hester), daughter (Alice Edith), a nurse (Elizabeth Plasters aged 51, born in Barnstaple, Devon and widowed), a carter (Joseph Wooder aged 17 and born in Frensham, Surrey), and a servant (Mary Milam aged 15 and born in Binsted, Hampshire) in Wrecclesham Street.
In the 1881 census as Albert Baker aged 39, born in Headley, Hampshire, a farmer and visiting with his wife (Elizabeth) James Curtis (aged 56, born in Bramshott, Hampshire and a grocer) and his wife (Jane aged 58 and born in Petersfield, Hampshire) at The Oaks, Headley, Hampshire. His two children were living with his widowed father in Farringdon, Hampshire.
In the 1891 census as Albert Baker aged 46, born in Hadley (sic - in the index), Hampshire, a farmer but not employed or an employer, and living with his wife (Elizabeth) and son (Hector C) in Vine Cottage, Bentley, Hampshire.
In the 1901 census as Albert Baker aged 54, born in Headley, Hampshire, a domestic gardener, and living with his wife (Elizabeth) at Buxted Lodge, Hadlow Down, Mayfield, East Sussex.
In the 1911 census as Albert Baker aged 69 and living with his Elizabeth (wife?) in Westhampnett, Sussex.
His wife died in Steyning in 1926.
Death of Albert Baker in FreeBMD in January-March 1929 in Steyning (2b 629).
Albert Baker was my second cousin three times removed.
