Christening of Alexander Baxter in the IGI on 24 October 1711 in Blairgowrie, Perth, parents John Baxter and Margaret Wandless.
In Scotlands People it states Blairgowrie, Perth "October 24 John Baxter in Maus and Margaret Wandless had a child baptised called Alexander". I guess this refers to Mains of Mause some 2 miles north between A93 and the River Ericht.
There are two entries in the IGI for the marriage of Alexander Baxter and Elspet Smith: one on 24 October 1735 in Newtyle, Angus and the other on 8 November 1735 in Meigle, Perth.
In Scotlands People it states: Newtyle, Angus 1735 "Oct 24 Alexander Baxter and Elspet Smith Marriage Contract and after ? marriage [no date]" and in Meigle, Perth 1735 "Nov 8 Alexander Baxter in this parish and Elspet Smith in the parish of Newtyle, Angus".
All the children were christened in Meigle, but only the father's name is given.
Blairgowrie is 19 miles NW of Dundee on A923. Meigle is 8 miles east of Blairgowrie at the intersection of A94 and B954, 14 miles NNW of Dundee.
Alexander Baxter was Felicity's fifth great grandfather.
