Entry in the IGI for the christening of Nicholas Baker on 25 August 1667 in Headley, parents Nicholas Baker and Elizabeth.
Entry in the IGI for the marriage of Nicholas Baker and Joane Hame on 9 May 1689 in Farnham, Surrey. There is also an entry in the West Surrey Family History Society West Surrey Marriages for Nicholas Baker of Headley and Joan Haine. (Neither Hame nor Haine are common local names although Ham, Haines and Hains are - a Joane Ham was christened in Bentley in 1644 and a Sarah Ham married in Frensham in 1654).
All the children were christened in Headley.
There is an entry in Headley Burials for Joan Baker, wife of Nicolas on 21 November 1750 (which implies Nicholas was still alive) and for Nicolas Baker on 22 July 1753 (and not in 1742).
There are two entries in Headley Wills, both labelled Admon which means administration which was made after someone died, when they had not left a will, in order to help the next of kin distribute the property of the deceased. It could include an inventory of their goods, which was proved in the church courts.
The first is for Nicholas Baker, a yeoman, in 1747 labelled renouc., and another in 1755 for Nicholas Baker, husbandman, with a note stating the will was made in 1728 - hence I think the latter applies to this Nicholas.
Nicholas Baker was my sixth great granduncle.
