Notes

Birth of Ellen Baker in FreeBMD in October-December 1874 in Farnham (2a 116) - note Haslemere was in Hambledon, not Farnham, and I assume she was actually born in Shottermill which was part of Frensham parish.

Her brother Maurice was born in Haslemere in 1877, and sister Mary Ann in Farnham in 1880.

In the 1881 census as Ellen Baker aged 6, born in Haslemere, Surrey, and living with her parents (Albert and Mary A), two brothers (Edwin J and Maurice ) and four sisters (Angelina, Emily, Mary A and Matilda K) at 5 Blount Cottages, Union Road, Farnham, Surrey.

Her sister Edith in Richmond in 1890.

I cannot find the family in the 1891 census.

In the 1901 census as Ellen Baker aged 26, born in Shotteswell, Surrey, single, a housemaid, and living with John Harmon Foster (aged 83, born in North Shields, Northumberland and a chairman and director of ? Ltd.), his wife (Juliana aged 56 and born in Stamford, Lincolnshire), two neices (Annie Richardson aged 58, born in Saunderton, Durham, widowed and Elizabeth Browne aged 54, born in Saunderton, Durham, married and both with no stated employment), a boarder (Sarah Dorothy Harrison aged 19, born in Lee, Kent, single and no stated employment), a cook (Ellen Emma Grove aged 25, born in Wimbledon, Surrey and single), palourmaid (Eleanor Hardy aged 25, born in Thursley, Surrey and single), housemaid (Jane Edith Bonner aged 19, Hambledon, Surrey and single) and kitchenmaid (Minnie Tickner aged 20, born in Woking, Surrey and single) in Witley, Surrey.
