Notes

In the 1841 census as Ann Absalom aged 23, born in Northumberland, employed as a FS (female servant?), and living with John Rennison (aged 48 and a tobacco manufacturer) and his family at Dockwray Square, Tynemouth, Northumberland.

I cannot find an entry for her in the 1851 census - she was not living with her parents.

In the 1861 census as Ann Absalom aged 43, born in Blyth, Northumberland, unmarried, employed as a greengrocer, and living with her parents (Robert and Margaret), and niece (Mary Wilson) at Market Place, Earsdon. Her sister Elizabeth Wilson and family were living next door.

In the 1871 census as Ann Absolam (sic) aged 53, born in Blyth, single, employed as a greengrocer's daughter, and living with her parents (Robert and Margaret Absolam) at 11 Market Place, South Blyth. Her sister Elizabeth Wilson and family were living next door at number 12.

Here father died in 1872 and her mother in 1876, and she apparently moved from Blyth to Earsdon.

In the 1881 census as Ann Absalom aged 64, born in Blyth, employed as a greengrocer, and living at 9 Market St., Earsdon, Northumberland. Her widowed sister (Elizabeth Wilson) and family were living at the same address, but apparently a separate household.

She appears to have moved back to Blyth after 1881.

In the 1891 census as Ann Absalom, aged 74, born in Blyth, single, employed as a greengrocer and living with her widowed sister (Elizabeth Wilson) at 8 Market St., Blyth.

In the 1901 census as Ann Absalom aged 83, born in Blyth, single, a greengrocer and an employer working at home, and living with her sister (Elizabeth Wilson) who was a manageress for greengrocers and two greengrocer's assistants (Maggie A Kelsey aged 21 and Helena Bulley aged 16, both born in Blyth) at 8 Market Street, South Blyth.

Death of Ann Absalom in FreeBMD in April-June 1909 aged 92 in Tynemouth (10b 185).

Earsdon is about 4 miles north of the River Tyne and Blyth is 8 miles further north.
