Pauline Hanson, 76 of Sioux Falls, SD, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, August 12, 2009, at Avera McKennan Hospital.
Pauline Eunice Hanson, daughter of James and Marguerite (Castle) Adams, was born on October 27, 1932, in Sioux Falls, SD. She grew up there and received her education, graduating from the St. Joseph Cathedral High School in 1951. She then obtained her teaching certificate. Pauline taught at a country school and worked briefly at Kresges and Walgreens until meeting Martin Hanson at the Arkota Ballroom.
Pauline was united in marriage with Martin Hanson on February 27, 1954, in Luverne, MN. The couple resided in Sioux Falls and Pauline remained at home to raise the children. After the kids were out of the house, Pauline ran an in-home daycare and later traveled across the country with her husband.
Martin passed away on November 30, 2005. After his passing, Pauline remained busy playing cards and Farkle with friends. She was a member of St. Therese and made sure to help clean the church every Friday with her friends. She was a youthful and outgoing woman who was very strong in her faith and family. Having been a homemaker, Pauline honed her skills as one of the greatest cooks in the country. One of her biggest joys was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren who affectionately knew her as "Grandma Great".

Visitation will begin at 12 pm with the family present from 5 to 7 pm and a Prayer Service followed by a Rosary at 6 pm on Friday, August 14, 2009, at Miller Funeral Home, 13th and Main. A Mass of Christian Burial Service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, August 15, 2009, at St. Therese Catholic Church with burial at St. Michael Cemetery.
Pauline Eunice Adams was the first cousin twice removed of Minnie Adetta Adams, mother of Zelda E Molloy, wife of Frank Bridger Lower, the fourth cousin once removed of Cyril Larby, my second cousin once removed.
