It is not clear what happened regarding her mother who died 1942, but her father married Melissa Davis in 1883.

In the 1900 census as Lula Raneger aged 24 and living in Jackson County, Mississippi.

In the 1910 census as Lula J Ranager aged 28, and living with Joe W aged 39 (husband?) and Lillie B aged 8, Elizabeth aged 5m, Ruby M aged 4 and Joseph W aged 1 (children?) in George County, Mississippi.

In the 1920 census as Lula J Kreager aged 42 and living with Joseph W aged 48 (husband?) in George County, Mississippi.

In the 1930 census as Lella Ranager aged 52 and living with Joe W aged 59 (husband?) in George County, Mississippi

There are two entries in RootsWeb WorldConnect for Lula Jane Adams born 8 January 1874 in Jackson County, parents Jesse A Adams and Jane Mizell, her marriage to Joseph Wesley Ranager, and seven children, and her death on 29 October 1957 and burial in Shady Grove Cemetery, George County, Mississippi. Another entry adds that her death was in Lucedale, and her burial was on 30 October 1957, but gives her husband as James Madison Spencer and the marriage in 1888 - see below.

There are six entries in Ancestry Public Member Trees for Lula Jane Adams born born 8 January 1874 in Jackson County, parents Jesse A Adams and Jane Mizell, her marriage to Joseph Wesley Ranager on 13 November 1899 (one gives 25 September 1899) in Lucedale, George, Missippi, her residence in Northeast Jackson (one gives Cherry Level, Neshoba) in 1900 and Beat 4 George in 1910 and 1920, and seven children, and her death on 29 October 1957 and burial in Shady Grove Cemetery, George County, Mississippi. One entry contains the following story:

There is also an entry for her marriage to James Madison Spencer. There is a submitted entry in the IGI for a Lula Jane Adams born 3 January 1874 in South Caroline who married James Madison Spencer in 1888 and who died 21 January 1957, and three entries in the Pedigree Resource File which give her birth, parents, death and burial as above, but her marriage to James Madison Spencer and this is the cause of the confusion.
