Birth of Hannah Matilda Adams in FreeBMD in January-March 1855 in Depwade (4b 227) which included Diss.
In the 1861 census as Hannah M Adams aged 6, born in Diss and living with her parents (Enoch and Betsey), two brothers (Amos Wm and George E), sister (Harriet Ann), and a servant (Martha Norris aged 14 and born in Diss) at Cock Street, Diss, Norfolk.
Her father died in 1862 in Hartismere which included Palgrave.
I believe there are two entries for her in the 1871 census. The first as Hannah Adams aged 16, born in Diss, employed as a tailoress and living with her widowed mother (Betsey), and two brothers (Amos and George) in Palgrave, Suffolk. There is also an entry for Hannah Adams aged 16, born in Diss, employed as a general servant, and living with Robert Balls (aged 35, born in Gissing, Norfolk and an inn keeper and cattle dealer), his wife (Emma aged 31, born in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk and the landlady formerly cook), their two sons (Elliss aged 8 and Willm aged 10, both born in Carlton Rode, Norfolk), daughter (Elizabeth aged 1 and born in Scole), and two lodgers (Frederick Baldwin aged 29, born in Diss and a cattle dealer and his wife Eliza aged 27, born in Burston, Norfolk, and a housekeeper and needle woman) at the Greyhound Inn, Norwich Road, Scole, Norfolk. (Scole is just 3 miles east of Palgrave on A140.)
In the 1881 census as Hannah M Adams aged 25, born in Diss, no stated employment and living with her mother (Betsey), and two brothers (Amos W and Enock G.) at Andrews Yard, St Stephen's Street, Norwich St Stephen, Norfolk.
I cannot find any later information
Palgrave is 2 miles south of Diss.
Hannah Matilda Adams was my second cousin twice removed.
