In the 1891 census as John J Absalom aged 14, born in West Cramlington, employed as a general labourer, and living with his parents (David and Jane), three brothers (Henry, Chris and David G), three sisters (Ann, Maria and Elizabeth) and the latter's daughter Jane, in a 4 room house in Schoolrow, Cramlington.
In the 1901 census as John J Absalom aged 24, born in Gamlington (sic - in the index), single, employed as a free methodist minister, and boarding with John Briggleworth (aged 60, born in Driffield and living on his own means), his wife Sarah A (aged 57 and born in Driffield), their two sons Arthur (aged 18, born in Driffield and employed as a carter), Geroge T (aged 22, born in Skerne and employed as a cabinet maker), and two daughters Elizabeth E (aged 26, born in Skerne and employed as a dressmakers assistant) and Margaret R (aged 20 and born in Skerne) at 45 Shady Lane, Great Driffield, Yorkshire.

David Absalom was the first cousin of Susannah Emily Absalom, the wife of George Fullick, my third cousin twice removed.
