The following is from an email from Andrew B Wiber: Derek or ( Sandy ) as he was known while in Canada lived with my parents (Wilf and Auriol) when he married Glady and moved back to England where I believe they had 2 boys. We lived at 52 park street in Port Credit, Ontario (Port Credit became part of the new city called Mississauga Ontario) and this is about 15 miles from downtown Toronto. From what i remember Derek or Derry/Sandy came to Canada and started working I believe for a company called Bradma? photo copying type machines in those days. That is where he met my mother and lived with us for 5 or 6 years. He was very active in motor sports. He bought an Austin 7 or something and tried racing it, and he was very active in motorcycle racing and worked with some local's (Alan johnson and his brother) who both raced 1959/1960 Manx Norton 500's. He used to take me most weekends to these events, and as a result of this when I became 16 I started a very very short career of racing in the 125 class.
