In the 1901 census as George Janes (sic - in the index, James on the original) Quickenden aged 18, born in Ifield, Sussex, single, a carpenter, and living with his parents (Charles and Amelia), brother (Ernest Herbert) and sister (Ethel May) in Ifield Road, Ifield, Sussex.

Marriage of George James Quickenden and Annie Elizabeth Telling in FreeBMD in April-June 1907 in Malmesbury (5a 107).

His son was born in Malmsbury in 1909.

In the 1911 census as George James Quickenden aged 29, born in Crawley, Sussex , a joiner working for a builder, and living with his wife (Annie Elizabeth) and son (Charles Herbert) in four rooms at Highgate, Forest Row, Sussex.

His daughter and son were born in East Grinstead in 1911 and 1913.

Served on President II 2 May 1916 to 1 December 1916, ? 2 December 1916 to 1 June 1917, Crystal Palace 2 June 1917 to 11 June 1917, Eastchurch 12 June 1917 to 30 June 1917, and Daedalus 1 July 1917 to 31 March 1918. Very good character.
