Birth of Mary Marden in FreeBMD in July-September 1872 in Hambledon (2a 121) which included Thursley (possibly at the public house on the north side of the A3 between Thursley and Milford near the old silk mill from the 1871 census).
In the 1881 census as Marden aged 7, born in Thursley, Surrey, and living with his parents (George and Maria), four brothers (F. George, George Tyndale, Leonard and William), and three sisters (Ellwen, Kate and Matilda M) at West Marden, Up Marden, Sussex.
I cannot find her in the 1891 census.
In the 1901 census as Mary Marden aged 24, born in Godalming, Surrey, single, employed as a dressmaker and living with her sister (Ellevon) who was head of the family at 3 Firle Road, Eastbourne, Sussex. Both sisters are also stated to be visitors to another family at the same address.
Up Marden is about 10 miles NW of Chichester.
Mary Marden was my second cousin twice removed.
