In the 1881 census as Henry V Marden aged 1, born in Churt, Surrey, and living with his parents (Henry and Charity E) at his granduncle (James Baker) and his wife (Mary Ann) at Kitts? Farm, Churt (between Butts Farm and the Shant).

The family moved to Emsworth, Hampshire from the birth of his brother Frederick in 1884, but moved to Thursley by 1887 from the birth of Edwin.

In the 1891 census as Henry W Marden aged 11, born in Churt, Surrey, and living with his parents (Henry and Charity E), four brothers (Edwin J, Ernest Walter, Frederick and Nannie Stan (Maurice Stephen)), sister (Mary), and a lodger (Henry Boxall aged 29, born in Thursley, single, and a general labourer) at the Red Lion, Thursley, Surrey.

In the 1901 census as Henry Marden aged 21, born in Churt, Surrey, single, a carpenter and living with his parents (Henry and Charity), four brothers (Edwin, Ernest, Frederick and Maurice) and two cousins (Ada and Maud - daughters of Stephen Marden and Minnie Whiten Hughes) at Linsted Farm, Headley, Hampshire.

His daughter was born in Alton.

Entry in the Register of Deaths for Henry V Marden in April-June 1938 aged 58 in Alton (2c 220).

Entry in Headley Monumental Insciptions Number 494 in the strip to the west of the path through the ‘long churchyard (the acre added by Mr Laverty in 1909):

[headstone and kerb] In / loving memory of / Henry Vickery MARDEN / who fell asleep / 8 June 1938 age 58 / and also Mary Ann, his wife / who joined him / 13 Aug 1959 age 80 / [east kerb] Rest in peace
