Camanche, Iowa -- Services for Thomas J. Kerens, Camanche, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Camanche Chapel of Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory, Camanche. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery, with military rites conducted by Camanche Veterans of Foreign Wars. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Monday at the chapel, with a 7 p.m. vigil prayer service. Mr. Kerens died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2000, at his home. He owned and operated Wells Painting & Decorating Company for many years, retiring in 1979. He was born May 1, 1921, in Kansas City, Mo. He married Agnes Lechleitner in 1970 in Morrison, Ill. She died in 1994. During World War II, he served with the Marines in the Pacific Theater. He was wounded twice and received two Purple Hearts and a Gold Star. Survivors include a daughter, Marlyss Fisher, Clinton; sons, Leon Fullick, Crossville, Tenn., and Ken Fullick, McHenry, Ill.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn Petersen, DeWitt, and Loretta Detra, Clinton; and a brother, James, Tampa, Fla
