According to Tom Croucher in Australia James Croucher was born on 26 November 1815 in Kingsley, Hampshire, parents William Croucher and Elizabeth Tuckey, married Lucy ?, and had six children (Ann, William, Mary Elizabeth, James, Alice and George).
There is an entry in Ancestry Public Member Trees for James Croucher christened on 2 July 1815 in Binsted near Alton (obviouly the wrong entry - this was for the son of Elizabeth Croucher), parents William Croucher and Elizabeth Tuckey, his marriage to Lucy Othen in 1847, and the seven children. Graham Marley has a similar entry in Ancestry Public Member Trees, but gives the christening as 26 November 1815 at St Nicholas, Kingsley, but does not give Lucy's surname.
James Croucher was the husband of Lucy Othen, sister of the wife, Eliza, of James's brother Edmund and sister of Moses Othen, husband of Ellen Shrubb, my first cousin three times removed.
Lucy was the sister of the wife, Eliza, of James's brother Edmund.
Binsted and Kingsley are only a mile apart.
