I cannot find any prior information on her. I am not sure of the spelling of her surname - Horswell, Horswill and Horwill seem to be interchanable.

I cannot find her in the 1861 census. Her first daughter was born in Newport, Monmouthshire in late 1861, second in East Stonehouse in 1863, and the last three children in Plymouth in 1865 to 1869.
In the 1871 census as Mary Bourne aged 33, born in Roborough, Devon, and living with her husband (Frederick W), son (Frederick E), four daughters (Annie E, Edith R, Kate F and Mary F), a governess (Mary A Perkin aged 35, born in Tavistock, Devon and single), and a servant (Amelia L Hill aged 38, born in Plymouth, Devon and single) at 26 Herbert Street, Hoxton, New Town, Shoreditch, London.
