Alfred Robert Croucher was born on 25 February 1852 in Vauxhall, London, parents George Charles Croucher and Sarah Rollisson, married Elizabeth Treasure on 25 December 1874 in South Lambeth, London, had four children (Emma Elizabeth, Mary Ellen, Alfred George and Alice), sailed on S.S. Texan on 5 April 1884 from Plymouth arriving on 23 May 1884 in Sydney, had another daughter (Jane) soon after arrival, became a painter and was employed by Anthony Hordens. Later he was paralysed from the waist down and was cared for by his son Alfred and daughter in law Eleanor. He died at the home of his eldest daughter Emma who looked after him in his last years. He died on 30 December 1911 in North Botany.

Alfred Robert CROUCHER (1852-1911) m. Elizabeth Treasure (c1850-1906). Their children were Emma Elizabeth (m.William John ROBSON), Mary Ellen (m. Edward Lawrence WILSON), Alfred George, Alice (1880-1903)and Jane (1885-lived 6 months). Alfred and Elizabeth lived in the Sydney suburb of Waterloo. Their married daughters lived in Mascot while their son, Alfred, lived in Ultimo, Seaforth and Sans Souci.

I am a descendant of Alfred Robert Croucher b London circa 1852 and who married Elizabeth Anne Treasure Dec 25, 1874 in England. He was the son of George Charles Croucher and Sarah Rollinson of London. Alfred Robert emigrated to Australia arr 23 May, 1884 preceded by his brother John in 1883.
