There is an entry in FreeBMD for the marriage of Elizabeth Croucher and John Veal in October-December 1838 in Christchurch (8 265) which included Sopley.
In the 1841 census as Elizabeth Veal aged 20 (rounded down to a multiple of 5), born in Hampshire, and living with John (husband?) and Caroline (daughter?) at Emery Down, Lyndhurst, Hampshire.
In the 1851 census as Elizbeth Peal (sic - original is almost illegible), aged 33, born in Sopley, and living with her husband (John), son (John), and three daughters (Ann, Catherine and Sophia) at Emery Down, Lydhurst.
In the 1861 census as Elizabeth Veal aged 42, born in Shirley, Hampshire, and living with her husband (John), son (John), daughter (Sophia) and grandson (Frederick) at Amesley? Bank,Lyndhurst.
