In the 1861 census as Any (sic - in the index) Croucher aged 2, born in Dorking and living with her parents (Thomas and Harriett - why Harriett?), brother (Thomas), and two sisters (Harriett and Sarah) at Holmwood, Dorking, Surrey.

In the 1871 census as Amey Croucher aged 12, born in Dorking, and living with her parents (Thomas and Eliza), brother (Thomas), two sisters (Eliza and Elizabeth) at Stubbs? Farm, Dorking, Surrey.

In the 1881 census as Amy Croucher aged 22, born in Holmwood, single, employed as a cook and domestic servant, and living with John Oakshott (aged 65, born in Bosham, Sussex and employed as an innkeeper), his wife Elizabeth (aged 55 and born in Mickleham, Surrey), his daughter Alice Selman (aged 24 and born in Mickleham) and her husband Robert (aged 24, born in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, and employed as an innkeeper) and a housemaid Mary Francis Merret (aged 22 and born in Dorking) at the Beehouse Public House, London Road, Dorking.

From entries in FreeBMD Elizabeth Oakshott died in 1883 and John Oakshott in 1884, and Amy moved with their daughter and son-in-law to Denham, Buckingshire.

In the 1891 census as Amy Croucher aged 31, born in Holmwood, single, employed as a barmaid and living with Robert Selman (aged 34, born in Cheltenham and employed as a licensed victualler), his wife Alice (aged 34 and born in Mickleham), and a cook and servant Sarah Upfold (aged 24, born in Newdigate, Surrey and single) at Lambert? Arms, Denham Road, Denham St Marys, Buckinghamshire.
